Michel ROUSSEAU was born in Limoges and won his first flute competition at the age of 14.

He perfected his technique with Ida RIBERA at Paris Conservatoire of 10 and obtained also the first prize student. From 1981 to 1983 he was a student with Alain MARION at Paris Conservatoire National Superieur of Music. He is also a graduate of the CZIFFRA and MENUHIN Fondations.

Mr. Rousseau was the Piccolo soloist of Avignon-Provence orchestra until 1987,when he was appointed solist of the Radio-France Philharmonique Orchestra with Myun Whun Chung.

He has worked with famous conductors such as OZAWA, MAAZEL, BOULEZ, MEHTA, GERGEIEV, and many others.

As a chamber musician, Mr. Rousseau founded both the PARIS FLUTE TRIO and the WEBER TRIO and was a regular guest in many French festivals (Radio-France, Paris, Montpellier, etc.)

Mr. Rousseau has given master classes throughout France, including the cities of Nice and Marseilles, and teaches flute and chamber music at the Paris Conservatoire of 10 and Asnieres music school.
