Dr. Robert Barstow serves as Chair of the Music Department at the State University of New York, College at Oneonta.

He teaches Music Marketing and Merchandising as part of their internationally acclaimed Music Industry Program, and serves as Conductor and Musical Director of their Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Opera productions.

He has served as National President of NAMBI, the educational wing of the NAMM, the international representative for the Music Products Industry.

Dr. Barstow received his Master of Arts in Theory and Ph.D. in Musicology from The Ohio State University.  He has done post-doctoral work in choral/orchestral conducting at Summer Music Institutes held at the University of Oklahoma, Indiana University, Yale University and the Aspen Choral Institute where he worked with Margaret Hillis, Robert Shaw, Gregg Smith, Otto Werner-Mueller, Dr. Julius Herford and others, and studied voice with Dr. Virginia Davidson.

He recently received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities.
