Overview of the
New York Summer Music Festival

The New York Summer Music Festival is a six-week summer program that challenges every one of its students to achieve their highest levels of musicianship.

NYSMF distinguishes itself from other "band camps" though its philosophy of top-level instruction & performance for the serious young musician, combined with all the fun and friendship of a great summer camp.

At NYSMF this summer, you will find yourself soloing in a jazz combo ... playing in a full-sized orchestra next to a professional musician ... singing in a choir over 200 voices strong ... and all of that before lunch!

Up to 200 students every session (more than 400 per summer!), coming from 35 states across America and 25 nations worldwide. The roster includes California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, & Washington, DC. USA, Russia, Canada, Korea, Italy, France, Algeria, Austria, Ecuador, and Switzerland.

Special Programs in Composition, Original Musical Theatre, Classical Saxophone, Classical Guitar, ProTools, and Writing & Acting, in addition to our large ensembles and our tremendous Jazz program.

NYSMF will consider students of all musical levels, ranging from as young as 11 years old and as old as 25. No matter your age or level, we can provide everyone an intense, challenging, and rewarding summer of music.
