REGISTERED NURSE (RN) NEEDED

For this summer of 2012, the New York Summer Music Festival (NYSMF)
is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to serve as resident camp nurse
to care for a population of approximately 150 high-school-age students
and 50 staff.
COMPENSATION
- Salary: up to $6,000 ($1,000/week)
- Free attendance for applicant's child for up to the full NYSMF season (6 weeks)
- May choose to take position for entire 6-week season, or for one or more sessions (NYSMF is divided into three sessions, each two weeks in length). Weekly employment is possible (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 weeks).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in New York State (Reimbursement will be provided if you have certification in another state, but will obtain a license for New York State)
- Certification in "CPR for the Professional Rescuer" and "First Aid: Responding to Emergencies" or equivalent
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must reside ON-SITE 24/7 for the entire duration of the festival (June 26 - August 6, 2010) plus arrive one day early (June 25) for setup and orientation, and depart one day later (August 7) for close-down.
- Provide basic first aid for all Festival participants
- Perform Health Screening for incoming campers at student registration (9am - 2 pm, June 26, July 10, July 24)
- Keep daily office hours and be available via phone for medical emergencies (actual
office hours are flexible)
- Store and dispense (2x daily) medications for students (NYS Health regulations require all medications, including OTCs, be securely stored in a summer camp's Health Center)
- Keep medical records up to date, and inform staff of specific camper health needs
- Communicate with student parents and local medical personnel (as needed)
