NYSMF 2009 Student Information

Welcome to all NYSMF 2009 students! Here are some important links and information that you will need to complete your NYSMF experience this summer.

• The NYSMF Main Office will be in BLODGETT HALL, suite #13 (just to the right of the main entrance). Please come to this location for any questions, concerns, etc.

• The NYSMF Nurse's Office will be located in BLODGETT HALL (suite TBA).
• The Nurse also serves as guardian of the CAMP BANK. Please come during regular office hours (TBA) to make withdrawals.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON MEDICATIONS

• Per New York State Health Department regulations, NO MEDICATIONS MAY BE KEPT IN STUDENT ROOMS AT ANY TIME. This include over-the-counter (OTC) meds, including aspirin, tylentol, children's baby aspirin, gillyweed, etc.
• Students requiring daily A.M. medications should drop by during the morning office hours. Those requiring P.M. meds should come by in the evening hours.
• Please be sure to take responsibility for getting and taking your own medications! We cannot chase you down, wrestle you to the floor, pinch your nose shut, and drop your meds into your gullet. Not every day, anyway.

• Boys will be housed in GRANT HALL.
• Girls will be housed in SHERMAN HALL.
• The Garden and First Floors of both residence halls are non-residential rooms, and are open to both boys and girls.
• The top two floors of each hall is boys only (Grant) and girls only (Sherman).
• Any person of the inappropriate gender in the inappropriate floors of a residence hall is subject to immediatel dismissal from the festival, the SUNY Oneonta Campus, and the city of Oneonta itself.

Participants in NYSMF may only enter the following SUNY Oneonta buildings:

• FINE ARTS BUILDING
• HUNT UNION
• ALUMNI HALL
• GRANT HALL
• SHERMAN HALL
• BLODGETT HALL (NYSMF Main Office; practice rooms)
• MILNE LIBRARY

Students entering any other SUNY Oneonta building without permission are subject to scorn, ridicule, and immediate dismissal from the Festival.

Students, faculty, and staff may utilize practice facilities in any of the following locations:

• FINE ARTS BUILDING (NOTE: some rooms are off-limits due to construction; this includes bathrooms, eek)
• GRANT HALL
  First floor and Garden Level rooms are all practice rooms
• SHERMAN HALL
  First floor and Garden Level rooms are all practice rooms
• BLODGETT HALL
  • First, Second, and Third floor rooms and lounges may be used as practice rooms
  • Garden Level is for NYSMF Faculty Only; please do not enter.

Please make certain that you write "NYSMF" on your letter or package to ensure it is processed correctly by the SUNY Oneonta College Mailroom.

• Packages and mail will be delivered to your dormitories every evening. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR MAIL ASAP AT THE "CAGE".
• Please make sure to send packages at least one full week in advance of your arrival at NYSMF.
• We cannot take responsibility for lost, undelivered, or otherwise vanished items.
• We will try to forward leftover mail items or return them to sender, but we cannot guarantee their fate if they are not picked up.
• If you need to send anything at the end of your time at NYSMF, please be certain to make all necessary arrangements yourself well in advance of your departure.

New York State Law decrees that no student shall be allowed to remain overnight at NYSMF unless the student has completed and returned ALL Health and Permission forms to the NYSMF Main Office. If you have not yet done this, please download the forms here and fax them IMMEDIATELY to us toll-free at (888) 632-3221!
