The New York Summer Music Festival presents the north- eastern USA’s first-ever two-week Euphonium and Tuba Institute (ETI), which offers to serious euphonium and tuba players participation in the most comprehensive euphonium and tuba gathering this summer, immersing themselves in their instruments for two jam-packed weeks.



Alongside master teachers and performers, high school and college students can participate in:

  • Private Lessons
  • Euphonium Quartets, Tuba Quartets, and Tuba-Euphonium Quartets
  • Massed Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble
  • Ensemble coachings
  • Repertoire Classes
  • Audition Preparation Classes
  • Competition Preparation (to include a focused course for Falcone finalists)
  • Solo Competition for participants

Jason Arnold, Tuba/Euphonium Institute Director


Jason Arnold can be heard with Jason Ham on the Summit Records label Bonefide with Soloist Joseph Alessi and the Imperial Brass Band. He has performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to an appearance on ABC’s All My Children. He is tubist with Brass, a brass quintet based in New Haven, CT. He has performed with the Hartford Symphony, Waterbury Symphony, Wallingford Symphony, Bridgeport Symphony, Hartford Pops Band, Utica Symphony, Amarillo Symphony, Lone Star Ballet. As a brass chamber musician he has performed in the Coleman Association Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena, CA, The Noon Day Concert Series at the Trinity Church in New York, NY, He is Band Director at Chase Collegiate School and Fairfield University. He has studied with Patrick Sheridan, Sam Pilafian and Arnold Jacobs. Like Jason Ham, Jason Arnold is seeking to make NYSMF the summer home for the finest in euphonium and tuba performance and pedagogy for the foreseeable future.
